Family Favorite

I put the ingredients in my bread maker on quick dough setting let them rise then roll out and pop in oven. EASY!Have been making these regularly for several years now. The kid love helping me and watching them puff up in the oven. Perfect to accompany hummus, Greek salad or sandwich fillers or roast in oven to make pita chips.
Pros: Yield, Quick, Good Value, Easy, Kid-Friendly, Healthy, Appearance, Adaptable, Impressive, Will Make Again, fun

NOT WHOLE GRAIN!!
April 8, 2011
This recipe is a lie!!
It SHOULD be called Wheat Pitas, because it contains a staggering 3 cups of white bread flour to a measly cup of whole grain. Even if the proportions were transposed, it would be still considered wheat, as it is not made exclusively with whole grains.
These kind of recipes are contributing to people's ignorance about what whole grain products are.
Do not think you're making a healthy bread by using this recipe just because it has a few whole kernels tossed in!!
Cons: Unhealthy, Ingredients

Great for sandwiches
June 11, 2010
I made this pita bread for sandwiches one day and they turned out very good. I've also made them to serve with roast lamb or souvlaki. Occasionally I get one that doesn't puff up and create the pocket(hence the 4 stars) but other than that this is a great recipe.
