White Bean Soup with Smoked Ham

Pantry staples such as beans and smoked meats are traditionally featured in the soups and stews of cold-weather months. In this recipe, a trio of hearty autumn herbs flavors the beans as they cook. Corn bread makes a good accompaniment.

Wonderful Wintertime Soup
December 31, 2014
Very flavorful, full bodied and comforting soup! Lends itself to easy adaptations. Used cannellini beans and substituted cubed ham steaks in place of ham hocks and still created an incredible soup. I suggest fire roasted diced tomato for added flavor. Accompany with a baguette, glass of red wine, a fire and your lover for a special evening.
Pros: Quick, Easy, Healthy, Appearance, Adaptable, Will Make Again, hearty
