Easy, easy, easy

If you are like me, your idea of a "homemade cake" comes from a box labeled "Betty Crocker" This recipe goes together super fast and couldn't be easier! I love the train cake pan, too, and it is a standing hit at my son's birthday parties. I usually only make half of the recipe for the train cake recipe, though, as it makes a lot.

A family tradition now

I have made this cake at Christmas time with my grandsons for several years and we have a blast on "Train Day". My original idea was to use it as a centerpiece during the season, but I learned after the first year to make extra so there are some to eat too-yum!

a birthday party surprise

This was the hit of the party! It was so much fun to construct, it makes a wonderful project to do with kids; they love decorating with all that candy and frosting. Not only does it look fantastic, it is a delicious vanilla cake recipe!
