Tarte Tatin

Tarte tatin, the famous French upside-down apple tart, is baked with a pastry crust placed on top of a luscious caramelized-apple filling, then inverted after baking. It is especially delicious served with scoops of salted caramel ice cream (see related recipe at right).

burnt caramel

Followed the directions but ended up with burnt sugar. Did not taste good. I think the time for boiling the sugar and butter is too long. I'm going to try again tomorrow.
