Incredible flavor

I have mixed feelings about this recipe. My 4 stars is strictly based on the amazing flavor of these little cakes. The spices were a brilliant addition and creates a perfect compliment to the chocolate. However, be warned that this recipe makes way more than "12 standard cupcakes". I used cupcake liners, and the batter spilled over the cupcake tin surface, creating one big muffin-top. They were almost impossible to remove. In addition, they were very crumbly (and they were not overbaked). I'll try this recipe again because the flavor was so extraordinary, but I will make a few modifications. Or maybe I'll just steal the spice idea and add them to my old stand-bys!
