good place to start

From the experience of making all different sorts of simple syrups I made a few changes to add more of a mint flavor and also to boost the citrus.
I added the zest of one large grapefruit during the process of dissolving the sugar. Large strips of zest made with a peeler. Also I didn't add the mint until after the simmering process and added around 15 leaves of mint letting them sit for a half hour or so in the syrup off heat.
Adding little bits of grapefruit when adding the juice gives the pop a little bit more texture.
I also don't have a Zoku and just poured it into small dixie cups and put in a little wooden spoon stick after an hour or so of freezing time in a regular freezer.
