The cheese makes this thing

Wow! I made this for my wife and she loved it so much that she made it part of her permanent menu for visiting relatives and friends. The cheese over the top is excellent and makes the recipe, in my opinion. Baking in a crock is not necessary, but easier. Take the time to make the homemade croutons, they are another great touch to this meal.
