Meatballs in Sugo

This recipe makes a generous amount of sugo, or "sauce" in Italian, so you will have plenty left over to serve with pasta as a primo or to save for another meal. Meatballs are prepared this way throughout southern Italy.

The Best Italian Meatballs
February 16, 2011
I sampled these meatballs at a Williams Sonoma cooking demo recently, then made the recipe myself last weekend. Not only are they SO easy, but they taste great. I was unable to find ground veal, but the combination of beef and pork is necessary to the success of this recipe. The sauce is super easy. I served it with whole grain pasta. Will make it again and again.
