versatile, simple dish

I have tried this recipe several times. For my vegetarian friends (or times when canadian bacon is not on hand) I have substituted portabello or championion, When french gruyere such as Comte is used, no additional salt is needed for the filling. For convenience try pie pastry from wholefoods- it has very low sugar content.
Pros: Quick, Easy, Will Make Again

I have tried this recipe 4 times and each time it was just perfect. The only difference is that in our oven it takes approximately 25 minutes.

Delicious and Simple

Pastry was easy to make! Turned out lovely, flaky, and buttery. Pastry used to intimidate me, but the difference from store bought is absolutely worth taking the time! Filling was simple as well. The only change needed is baking time, I had to bake for just under 50 minutes.
