Crumbly dough, sweet cookie
March 15, 2014
I found the dough really difficult to manage. It kept crumbling and even when rolled out at room temperature, still cracked a lot. There isn't enough binding in this recipe (I added a couple of teaspoon of water to help it along). I also find them quite sweet, but if you have them with a glass of milk or tea (no sugar), that will help cut-down the sweetness of the cookie. I wonder if the Easter Cut-out Sugar Cookies on this site would be better. It had good reviews.
Pros: Quick
Cons: Texture

Dough too dry
February 13, 2011
If you follow this recipe exactly, the dough is much too dry to work with. The flour/liquid ratio is completely wrong. Look at other cookie recipes to see this. I had to add more butter, and some milk in order to work with the dough. But after all of that, the dough was overworked and my cookies were tough.

Fun With the Grandchildren
April 30, 2010
With aprons on and stools to boost their height, my granddaughters love shaping and baking these cookies. Just add some beautiful William Sonoma colored sugars and they create their own masterpieces! We have had lots of fun with this recipe and so will you!
