Gingerbread Trifle with Poached Pears and Spiced Cream

This festive dessert is perfect for the holidays, and our gingerbread-spice quick bread mix speeds the preparation. You can make the poached pears and pastry cream a day in advance; cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Bake the quick bread the day you plan to assemble and serve the trifle.

i made this trifle for my family this christmas eve and i thought it was great. everybody complimented it and asked for seconds. i would recommend it for having people over as you can prepare most parts ahead of time. the recipe didn't say how much prior to serving the trifle should be assembled, so i did it about 15 minutes before serving. however, when we had the leftovers this morning it tasted even better. Next time i will definitely assemble the trifle a few hours ahead of time to give the flavors some time to blend together.
Pros: Appearance, Will Make Again
