Dark Chocolate Cake

To turn this simple cake into an impressive dinner-party dessert, add a drizzle of raspberry coulis. To make the coulis, puree 2 cups raspberries in a blender or food processor and strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl. Add sugar and fresh lemon juice to taste.

Easy but elegant and delicious.

I was craving chocolate...and had all the ingredients in the house. I replaced the Cognac with amaretto and it was still delicious. I would recommend the raspberry coulis to add something else. Might be my go-to chocolate cake recipe.

Daughter had new baby son. Big bottle of red wine (for friends not daughter or baby!!) and chocolate cake. Lovely. Really gorgeous. Cake and grandson!!
