When Chuck Williams was a child, his mother and grandmother made this coleslaw, which was a traditional accompaniment to their Christmas dinner. It uses an old-fashioned boiled dressing. The slaw is perfect for a picnic or backyard barbecue.

With some adjustments I made it work.

Just made this to pair with BBQ chicken and corn on the cob. Made it exactly as the recipe suggested but when we tasted it we found it was quite spicy/sour for the group of kids and old Norweigens we would be serving. So we ended up dumping honey mustard dressing all over it and it was a HIT. As long as you're aware that it's got some kick to it you will love it.
Pros: Appearance, Adaptable

This is a delicious, easy coleslaw that goes perfectly with pulled pork sandwiches for Kentucky Derby gatherings or any other time you want to share a fun casual meal with friends and family.
