Chocolate Panna Cotta

Panna cotta has become a very popular dessert on our shores these last few years, and for good reason. It's a luscious, totally Italian custard, no eggs, just cream and flavorings. This is good served alone or with the slightest dusting of finely ground cocoa nibs or shaved chocolate. Panna cotta is usually vanilla-this one is for chocolate lovers.

Chocolate panna cotta is so easy to make, has few ingredients, yet is so amazingly delicious. More creamy and savory and less sweet, it is very European and a welcome change. I've been making this for several years and it's always turned out great - and has been loved by all who've tried it. When we're hosting, chocolate panna cotta has become the "must serve" in the dessert buffet.
