Chicken Korma

Be sure to use plain whole-milk yogurt for this recipe. Fat-free yogurt is not as substantial and will curdle and/or cause the sauce to separate once it is mixed with the hot liquid, resulting in an unpleasant flavor and texture.

Failed to impress
November 5, 2011
I prepared for a week before making this recipe because I wanted everything to be perfect. Grant it, it's a simple recipe and very easy to make, but I wanted everything to turn out well just the same. I followed the recipe exactly as written except that I used chicken breast instead of thighs-OK so I didn't follow it exactly, but close enough as that was the only change I made. The final product was fair and perfectly edible, but very lackluster. Sadly, it lacked flavor. I could taste the ginger in the sauce, but that was it. I'm not sure if it needs other spices to liven it up or simply more garam masala. I hope to make it again when I find the time and play around with it in the hopes to make it more flavorful. I may try other recipes for korma first, though, and see how those turn out.
Pros: Quick, Good Value, Easy
Cons: Taste

Delicious weeknight curry
June 14, 2011
A very nice and delicious weeknight curry. Will definately make this again.
As recommended I used whole milk yogurt but it still separated, so will try low fat next time. I also added some veggies to turn into a more complete meal: small Japanese eggplants and roma tomatoes.
The appearance, maybe because of the added eggplants, was not as pictured, but more brownish and less appealing. Flavor makes up for this though.
Pros: Easy, Adaptable, Will Make Again
Cons: Appearance
