Caramelized Onion and Pancetta Lasagne

With its hearty ingredients, this lasagne works best when made with dried noodles. If possible, make the casserole a few hours before baking and serving to give the flavors time to marry. Prosciutto may replace the pancetta.

The ultimate comfort food! Great recipe, particularly, because the onions and bechamel can be made a day ahead. It is often requested by my daughters and their husbands. Feeds a crowd. Friends, always, ask for recipe.

a delicious savory indulgence!

This lasagne is hands down my favorite lasagne! While it takes a while to prep, the end outcome is worth the work. This dish has not failed to impress those served! The caramalized onions add a savory sweetness that complements the richness of the bechemel sauce which is worth every last calorie! While it may seem like a very simple dish, one bite will have you hooked! This lasagne is a wonderful recipe to add to the recipe box. This creation is worth trying instead of the usual marinara/meat sauce lasagne. Bon appetite!
