Brownies

Chocolate is categorized by how much chocolate liquor it contains. Unsweetened, or bitter, chocolate is 100% chocolate liquor with no sugar added. Bittersweet and semisweet chocolates have cocoa butter and sugar added to the liquor but still contain at least 35% and 15% liquor, respectively. In most cases, these 2 chocolates are interchangeable in recipes. Milk chocolate, which contains at least 10% chocolate liquor and 12% milk solids, behaves differently in recipes and should not be used in place of other types of chocolate unless specified.

So-So on the chocolate factor
December 21, 2014
I am not sure why mine did not turn out to be so dark or very chocolatey.. I even used good chocolate for the unsweetened! Added chocolate chips, etc, as recipe called for. Disappointed as I really, really wanted dark and deep chocolate brownie goo! But, since not too dark chocolate like, turned out to be more kid-approved, at least!
Pros: Quick, Kid-Friendly
Cons: not chocolatey enough

Easy, delicious, versatile

This is my go-to recipe for brownies. It's quick, easy and you can change it up in many different ways.
I have varied it by adding different types of chips...peanut butter, butterscotch, white chocolate...you can add nuts, or crushed up candy bars.
But the best IMHO, is just straight up high quality chocolate chips mixed in...creates a very intense chocolate brownie.
Pros: Quick, Easy, Adaptable
