Blackberry Crumble

The apples will remain somewhat firm after the crumble is baked. If you prefer softer apples, cook them in a microwavable dish for 7 minutes before mixing with the berries. The crumble mixture can be made in bulk to have on hand for quick baked fruit desserts. It will keep in the refrigerator for 4 weeks or can be frozen for longer storage.

Best cobbler I have ever had!
September 2, 2012
This was simply the best recipe that I have ever used for a cobbler/crumble. I used 4 very large apples and freshly picked blackberries from my pasture. The only thing I changed was doubling the cinnamon and adding 1tsp of nutmeg and then I also added the zest of one large lemon. But the coconut and almonds were AMAZING in the crumble! Five stars from all my picky eaters. This will be printed out and saved forever!
Pros: Yield, Easy, Appearance, Adaptable, Impressive, Will Make Again

Great Way to Use Fruit!
June 23, 2012
I use all kinds of fruit in this recipe. My favorite is actually blueberry-peach. Just make the topping, cut your fruit, put it all in the pan and bake! My husband's favorite is apple. Great with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top!

Easy and Tasty
May 14, 2010
Made this dessert to take to a friends house. Transported it while it was very warm and caused the topping to mix into the recipe. I did have extra topping with me, so before we had dessert I put more topping on it and baked it for approximately 10 minutes until brown on top. One suggestion, cut the apples a little thicker than suggested in the recipe. Great dessert for a crowd. I would make this again.
