For the best results, choose firm apples, such as Granny Smith or Gala, and firm, ripe pears, such as Bosc or Bartlett. These varieties will soften but still hold their shape when the crisp is baked. The pine nuts in the topping contribute an extra touch of autumn.

Easy to make and delish

This is the second time I've made this recipe, and it's delicious, especially with some vanilla ice cream! Very easy to make...I added in some cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg for a little extra flavor. Definitely recommend!

Not happy with this recipe

I love apple crisp and decided to try this recipe today. I was extremely not pleased with the outcome. There were no spices added to the mix, so I added cinnamon and a little nutmeg. The mix didnt come together and there was lots of the flour mixture on top of the apple-pear crisp after it was supposed to be done. I would not recommend this recipe.
