Great set but steak knife broken in half
August 16, 2013
We've had this knife set for 9 years. We love the knives and they stay sharp for a long time. My only disappointment has been that I dropped one of the steak knives on the floor while I was setting the table one night and the blade broken in half. It's frustrating to have an expensive set like this with a missing steak knife. The other complaint would be that they need to be hand washed. They rust if you clean them in the dish washer.
Pros: Easy to Use, Size, Strength, Versatile, Sharpness, Shape, Weight
Cons: High-Maintenance, Fragile

Agree with other comment re hand washing. Fine knives are works of art that require a bit of care. Wash them by hand, promptly hand dry and lovingly return them to their resting place in the block. Doing this is an enjoyable labor of love to ensure the pleasure of using a precision instrument. Breaking one by dropping it on a hard surface demonstrates hardness of the steel. Be thankful it did not land edge down on one's foot!

Dissing a knife because you have to hand wash? Any knife with an edge you would want to maintain ought to be hand washed, relatively soon after use. I don't personally see that as much of a drawback.
