Williams-Sonoma Tapenade

The sun-drenched hillsides of California's Sacramento Valley are prime territory for growing plump, flavorful olives. Sutter Buttes Olive Oil Company grows top-quality arbequina, mission, sevillano and kalamata olives, and harvests them at the peak of ripeness to make these savory tapenades, using traditional French recipes. Delicious with sliced artisan breads and cheese as a quick and easy appetizer, they also make great additions to pastas, sandwiches and pizzas and partners for roasted fish or chicken. Farmhouse Olive: This richly savory condiment combines satisfying chunks of all four varieties of olives mixed with herbs and capers.. Or try spooning it into tomato sauce with some garlic and chili flakes for a quick puttanesca. Parmesan Asiago: Parmesan and asiago cheeses complement fruity and mild arbequina-extra-virgin olive oil to make this savory spread. A pinch of spices adds a complex heat on the finish. Sun-Dried Tomato: Briny kalamata olives team up with tangy-sweet sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and spices to produce this deeply flavorful spread. 9 oz. Made in USA

Strange spice in this
October 29, 2013
I was really looking forward to tasting this tapenade. I wish now it had been a sample in the store that I could have tried before purchasing. The label just says "spices" as one of the ingredients but unfortunately there is something strange in this that tastes odd and shouldn't be in it. Rosemary perhaps, or thyme? I threw out the jar. An expensive mistake.
Cons: Disappointing, Ingredients, Flavor
