a disappointing towel

I have an older version of this towel in red and it is far superior in thickness and absorption. The current towel is a good size but is thinner and less absorbent. I was disappointed because I loved my older towels. I should have listened to previous reviewers.

New towels are poor quality

Very disappointed in the quality and returned them - the stitching shrunk all around the edges after washing and looked horrible (cheap) because they would not lay flat.
I was trying to replace the same Williams Sonoma towels I've had for over 10 years and use everyday. Even the workers in the store agreed the quality has went downhill and they wouldn't invest in the new towels.

Completely agree - quality of new towels is awful
Ah, how I wish I had read your review BEFORE I placed my order. I too have had several sets of these previously and have loved them, however, just bought new ones and after pulling them out of the package, washing them to be ready to use...I'm thinking of throwing them in the trash!!
These are TERRIBLE QUALITY compared to other sets I've had for years. While I realize they're just dish towels...I'm a little stunned about receiving such poor quality from WS.

Great Towels

I was very pleased with the quality of the towels. Nice heavy material and absorbent.
Washes well and the sewn on tab is a plus for securing it to my stove as I have a dog that likes to remove them and eat them!

The best dish towels ever!

I have been using Williams-Sonoma dish towels for at least ten years. They are my favorite; I often give these for gifts because I want my family and friends to also use the best dish towels ever made. They are strong and last a long time. Try them for yourself; you will not be disappointed.

Not what they used to be!

I have purchased these towels for years and have always loved them. However, I received some at the end of 2012 and they are not what they used to be. They are not as thick as they used to be and are not as big as they used to be. When laundered they now are super wrinkled around the edges and are not the quality they used to be. Very disappointed.

The Williams-Sonoma dish towels are a must have for every kitchen. There is no other dish towel that is comparable. This is the best dish towel I have ever had.

Several towels had large pulls in them. Loose threads on each towlel. Unknow how they will wear.

Lower Quality

I was stocking up on new towels that were similar to the ones I've used for two years. I returned them because the blue was almost black, and the weave was very loose. They seemed to be of a much lower quality than in the past. Please bring back the material you previously used for these towels.

Wrinkles a lot

I thought these were the same towels I've purchased in the past, but these are not the same quality. They get so wrinkled that I would rate them as just okay towels. I definitely won't buy again. But, I wasn't so disappointed that I would return them.

Colour bleeds

Perfectly sized kitchen towel, and they are absorbent. Unfortunately, the red colour bleeds - we now have red and varying degrees of pink towels. In short - functional but not aesthetically pleasing.

We have used Williams Sonoma towels ever since we were married and received them off our wedding registry 6 years ago. They are just now getting slight worn, but could be used easily for another 6 years. They are the best dish towels ever!

We've had WS dish towels forever! We ordered these when our last set was becoming threadbare after a decade of daily use. These are still the best! They become more absorbent and softer ove time!

Great towels - 5 years of good use

These are great dishtowels. I was worried I would not be able to order more because I have a blue kitchen and blue stripes were not listed for awhile. W-S finally offered a navy blue stripe which is fine. These absorb a lot more water than the thin linen-like towels. They launder well.

What happened to your towels?

After my old Williams-Sonoma towels, which I loved, wore out, I purchased a new set of washcloths and two sets of towels (khaki and white). Love the colors, but they fall short otherwise: come out of the dryer terribly wrinkled (my others never did), the weave is looser and snags. What a shame. I expected more at this price and from this company.
