With some help
July 27, 2014
I agree with other reviews that as a Stand-alone icing, it isn't very good. But place it in a Kitchen-aid mixer with 8 oz of cream cheese on high for 3-4 minutes, it is creamy and good. I especially like the lemon cupcakes with lemon icing!
Pros: creamy
Cons: Time to Prepare

Poor texture and flavor
February 5, 2014
I tried the chocolate and vanilla flavors and was extremely disappointed. Chocolate was dry and crumbly with a strong flavor so I added butter and whipped it hoping to improve the texture and flavor... but the texture was gritty and flavor was bad. I then added a 1/2 package of cream cheese, vanilla extract and powder sugar, and none of them helped. The vanilla icing had a very strange texture, almost gummy/slimy and the flavor was horrible. I tried the same process and it was terrible. I'm very surprised because WS products are always high quality. The only positive was that the icings were much easier to take out of the container than the tall glass jar version that WS previously sold. I wound up making a quick ganache with heavy cream and milk chocolate to use on the cupcakes instead and tossed the vanilla and chocolate in the trash. I also bought the lemon flavor and am afraid to even try it.
Pros: easy to remove from container
Cons: Disappointing, Texture, Flavor

Flavor ruined by texture/quality
February 1, 2014
Received the chocolate icing as a gift to compliment the chocolate cupcake mix (good!). It says the icing is spreadable from the container. It's not - very crumbly. So I whipped it up with butter (instructions state this as an option or with cream cheese). It never dissolved completely, so the frosting was gritty. It's disappointing since the flavor is quite good (the only reason it's getting 2 instead of 1 star). Perhaps the icing texture got disturbed from weather/temperature while being shipped? One container is plenty for 12 cupcakes.
Pros: Easy to Prepare, Time-saver, Flavor
Cons: Disappointing, Texture, did not meet description (not spreadable)

Chocolate Frosting
I agree with this review with the exception that I did not like the flavor at all. Very bitter.
