My new favorite...

Love this pan. Grilled some asparagus in it -- had that wonderful smoky taste. Also grilled Broccolini with Cherry Tomatoes -- once again the smoky flavor this pan cooks into the food is wonderful. It is rather wide, and pretty much takes up 90% of my grill space (and I've got a pretty big grill) -- but love the ease with which I can cook in it -- very much like a wok.
Not too difficult to clean -- won't be "pretty" anymore, but that's OK -- I don't buy cooking pans to display -- they are to be USED!

What's not to love Grill Pan

I received the Steel Grill Wide Chef's Pan ten days ago and have used it a half-dozen times already. I lusted after this pan for far too long; as soon as it went on sale I bought it and it was sitting on my front porch just a few days later. My ONLY regret is that I did not buy it sooner. I have made far more veggies than I normally would. I have used three different sauces in my dishes and they have all been wonderful. The only food that didn't work out so well in the pan was cubed potatoes, they tended to stick and burn. Cleaning is a breeze in the dishwasher, I don't care that it doesn't look new, as soon as you put it on the grill it's going to get dark again anyway. I was worried about storing another large pan but found it hangs nicely under my grill! If you have been considering this pan, don't wait any longer as you will just miss out on good grilled meals in no time at all. What's not to love...
Pros: quick grilled stir-fry, Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, holds a lot of food
Cons: didn't get it sooner

Love the Size of this Pan

We own all the perforated steel grilling products. This one is very nice because the width provides an area of direct contact with the grill, but also allows you to move pieces of food around and in effect, stir fry on the grill! Very easy to clean in the dishwasher. I am not hung up on keeping it looking brand new and actually like the seasoned, professional look the perforated grilling pans acquire.

Great pan. Why didn't I get one sooner! Wonderful for both camping and around the home grilling. Love te removable handle. Cleans up nicely.

Grilling gadget

I gave this pan to my husband for father's day. It works ok for grilling some smaller items..we used it for shrimp and wings with dry rubs. A little on the hard side for getting clean , but I think that was because of the long grilling time for the wings.I looks seasoned !

Great for stir frying on the grill!

This is a nicely made pan -- great for stir-frying on the grill. Try grilled scallops or shrimp! It is a large pan -- and does require a lot of grill space. It is fun to cook with this pan!

Excellent For Chicken Wings

I purchased my Chef's Pan last week and tried it for the first time this weekend. I made chicken wings. I have a Weber Grill that gets very hot and the wings cooked really nice and evenly, they didn't burn which was wonderful. Even with the Barbecue sauce on them they didn't burn. I was able to leave the pan in the BBQ. and burn off the baked on food too, that took all of 5 minutes. I got it on sale to, another bonus, thanks Wm. Sonoma, I love your products.

We use the grill pan for stir frying. It cooks veggies and shrimp very nicely. Food tastes great and very little oil needed. I love this product. It encourages us to grill more veggies.

OK but doesn't clean up well.

Even though this is made of stainless steel, it is impossible to remove all of the scorching from a gas grill, even when placed on a grate. Used the WS brush and cameo cleanser but some stains remained. If you are concerned about aesthetics, you may be disappointed. Otherwise the concept and performace was acceptable.
