Steel Grill Fry Pan

Meet the next generation of outdoor cookware - and fire up the flavor - with our steel grill fry pan. The perfect partner for your charcoal or gas grill, the innovative pan cooks up everything from sliced meats and poultry to seafood and vegetables. Thanks to our exclusive patent-pending perforated design, your favorite foods come in contact with the flame, taking on a savory, smoked flavor without the risk of losing them to the fire. Tiny perforations on the pan's surface expose your foods to the fire, adding rich, smoky character. Unique design keeps even the smallest ingredients safely inside the pan. After searing meat, poultry or vegetables, you can remove the handle and close the grill, letting the fire work its magic. The handle stays cool, and the lid will close easily. Simply reattach the handle when you're ready to flip and stir ingredients or to transfer the pan on and off the barbecue - it's easy even when you're wearing bulky grilling mitts. Rugged stainless-steel construction. Patent pending. A Williams-Sonoma exclusive.

My Favorite Grill Accessory!!!
May 7, 2013
I purchased this awesome grill plan last summer and let me just say it is one of the best purchases I have made! We grill year round and this pan is used every time. Perfect grilled veggies, I even toast ciabatta bread chunks for a crowd pleasing grilled veggie and bread salad! I find clean up relatively easy just by pretreating with Olive oil before use and soaking in hot sudsy water prior to washing. Any leftover food pieces comes off easily and as for the color..well..I feel its a testimony to its constant use, which in turn is a testimony to its quality...I had been on the fence about getting this for almost 2 yrs...and I'm happy I finally took the plunge...have not regretted this purchase at all!
I am now eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Steel Grill Roaster....I have big plans for this pan!
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Size, Versatile
Cons: cleaning may be challenging if not pretreated

Not worth the pain in cleaning
May 29, 2012
This was one of the many wedding gifts we received from Williams-Sonoma(YAY!) and with my husband being an avid griller I thought it would be great for me to finally get some grilled veges!
However, the pan did not seem to work as I thought it would. Maybe it is because we use charcoal and wood I am not sure, but the pan is now a seared black. No amount of 'bar keepers choice' or soaking in dawn took it out. And unless you have a grill brush that will fit inside the curve of the pan, food can be stuck.
I don't know if it was truly worth the money.
I do love the detachable handle so we don't burn ourselves.
Pros: Easy to Store
Cons: Difficult to Clean, durability

Works Great, Hard to Clean
November 3, 2011
Love the detachable handle while using on the BBQ and for storage.
We use it for grilling cut up bell peppers (yellow, orange, & red) tossed in olive oil and sprinkled with oregano.
When I say it's hard to clean, what i mean is that it will never look shiny and new after you use it. Yes, you can get the food off just fine. But it will have a forever charred black look. Just close your eyes and put it away until you BBQ again!
It would be nice if the cleaning brush others have mentioned came shipped with this pan.
Again, it works well, and we look forward to using it for other side dishes.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Easy to Store, Size
Cons: Difficult to Clean

Grill Fry Pan
October 6, 2011
I use this fry pan weekly during the summer. I've recreated several of the recipes from the WS catalog and all have been winners. I highly recommend this item and have purchased several additional as gifts to my friends who grill out.

favorite grill pan
September 18, 2011
I have purchased many grill pans but this is the best ever. When I got mine I also got my daughter and son one for their use. They to love theirs as much as I do mine. We all grill often so this will be a keeper for us.It was much easier to clean than I had expected. I did purchase the grill brush to clean it with and that did help. Would recommend buying one along with the pan.
Pros: Durable, Size, Design

Great Gril Fry Pan
September 13, 2011
I wanted a pan to gril vegetables and this one is great. I look forward to grilling shrimp in it as well without having to skewer them.
Steel mesh is easy to clean up and size of pan holds more vegetables than you would think it could without being massive. I like the detachable handle so I can close the cover on my gas grill and speed up the cooking process.

Handy grill tool.
August 16, 2011
I haven't used it that much, but do like the removable handle, and the bowl-shape helps keep things in it. We tried cooking wings in it but they really need more space and time to sit on the grill to get charred like we like them. So far cleaning hasn't been bad.

Fabulous Grill Pan!
August 15, 2011
Used this grill pan for the first time tonight to make the grilled steak sandwiches (recipe came with pan). They turned out delicious!!
Followed the clean up directions using the steel grill cleaning brush & cleaning went better than expected. If you like the "Like New"look I suggest using the "Bar Keepers Friend" (powder in can, not liquid) after the grill brush & you will be pleasantly surprised! I Use BKF on all my stainless steel pans & kettles & LOVE it:)

Great Pan!
August 8, 2011
Many other reviewers have noted that this pan turns black the first time they used it, and i found the same thing happening. It was not possible to return it to its pristine beauty, no matter what I scrubbed it with. The bits of food came right off, but the black color didn't. However, I will enjoy having a very useful grill pan, even if it's not pretty. It allows me to cook things that would otherwise slip through the grates, and to actually stirfry on the grill. I'm sure the more I use it, the more I'll discover it can do. Even if it isn't pretty anymore!!

You will use this a lot!
August 5, 2011
I already had the larger version of this pan, which I love. The smaller one will get lots of use as well. It is fun to cook with this pan. It is well made. Don't worry about keeping it too clean -- it will stress you out.

great for grilling
July 24, 2011
This pan is everything the descriptions says. I preheat it, brush with oil and all the smaller items stay inside-- great flavor! I wish the snap on handle would have a different mechanism. It gets very hot leaning in the attach it. Still, it's a keeper!

Completely transformed how I grill veggies!
July 21, 2011
Finally, I am done with the one-side-burned-the-other-raw syndrome when it comes to grilling veggies! This pan makes all the difference in giving me that nice smoky carmelized flavor that only a grill can impart, with much easier and more even cooking. I highly recommend this pan. And thank you, Mom, for pointing it out to me :-)

Grilling Vegetables
July 16, 2011
My husband received this for Father's Day. His 1st use was green beans, onions & olive oil. He loves it! Is going to try potatoes tonight. The removable handle is great! We run it through the dishwasher & don't care if it isn't shiny afterward. It's a barbecue "tool". Highly recommend it and thank our daughter for giving it as a gift.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Strength, Versatile, Design, Weight, less cleaning in the kitchen

Very Impressed!!
July 5, 2011
I received this as a birthday gift because my friend knows I love to grill...it is AWESOME!!
It is not the 1st grill pan/basket I have tried but it is by far the best.
It is the easiest to use because of the removable handle and it cooks the food very evenly.
We have figured out a few shrimp stir-fry recipes that are perfect in this pan.
The only minor set back...it is a little difficult to clean but that can be offset by a quick spray of veg oil before use.

Makes Grilling Fun
June 29, 2011
We made a dish with grilled vegetables, scallops and shrimp using this fry pan over a charcoal grill. The vegetables were cut into chunks and lightly tossed with olive oil before being placed in the pan - there was absolutely no sticking. The handle removed and reattached much easier than on the mesh pan we bought last year. When it was time to cook the seafood, we removed the vegetables to a serving bowl, added the marinated seafood, and 4 minutes later, the food was done - again with no sticking. Truly a great product!

delightful
June 26, 2011
I bought this last week and have already used it three times. It works wonderfully for grilled vegetables with meat stir fry - like dishes. My only complaint and the reason for the four stars instead of five is the cleaning. I have not put it in the dishwasher so I cannot speak to that, however it was a pain to clean it by hand. Lots of scrubbing and still not shiny clean...clean yes, shiny no! Personally, its no big deal to me and as I grill year round, I'm sure I will use it consistently. Sturdy construction, removable handle was easily attached !

Grill pan with removable handle
June 21, 2011
The pan works very well. The handle is relatively easy to get on and off. I had a pan with a handle that folded but didn't come off. That didn't work out at all so this one is a huge improvement. I think it will get lots of use this summer. I've only used it once so I can't speak to how easy it cleans or how durable it is.
