Staub Cast-Iron Round Tea Kettle

In a beautiful stovetop-to-table design, this enameled cast-iron kettle heats liquids slowly and keeps them warm long after it's removed from heat. The multifunctional design makes the kettle equally adept at warming milk, cider, mulled wine or even soup, and the enameled interior won't absorb their flavors or odors. The metal handles flip up to lock the lid in place for safe pouring. Cast-iron construction provides excellent heat retention, so water and liquids stay warm for serving. Multi-coat enameling ensures strength and is compatible with all cooktops, including induction. Matte Black selection features multi-coat enameling with low-gloss matte finish. Vibrant "majolique" enamel finish creates a beautiful presentation and resists rust, chipping and cracking. Interior won't absorb flavors or odors. Dishwasher safe. 6 1/4" diam., 4" high; 1-qt. cap. 5 lb. Made in France.

Love this tea kettle
July 12, 2014
I bought this in the Graphite color and it is stunning. Yes, it is heavy, but a small price to pay for the quality and style. I also like that it is easy to clean and that it doesn't whistle when the water boils. Sorry, but I find the whistling annoying with other kettles. This is a piece that will last a life time and one that will eventually be passed down to my daughter.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Color, Shape, Design
Cons: Weight

Awesome Tea Kettle
January 9, 2014
I just had my first cup of tea from my beautiful new STAUB, made in France tea kettle. Delish! I was determined to find a kettle made in USA or Europe. I hit the jack pot at Williams-Sonoma (on line). I bought the Sapphire Blue. It's a bit darker than the photos suggest but lovely. I look forward to purchasing other products from this manufacturer. I have my eye on the Cocotte oven. My kettle and I are ready for Downton Abbey!
Pros: Durable, Quality, Easy to Clean, Color, Easy to Store, Size, Versatile, Shape, Design, Weight, unique
Cons: having to gradually bring to a boil

Great design
September 13, 2013
I have been looking for a tea kettle NOT manufactured in Asia for some time now (as a protest against outsourcing and concerns about poor quality) and this is the only one I could find. I could not be happier with this kettle. The design is the best part...the entire top lifts off so that you can actually clean the inside. It heats water faster than any kettle I have ever used (probably due to it being enameled cast iron). Very sturdy, take care of it and it will be an item you can pass on to your grandkids. The quality is excellent. My only critique is that it's kind of small and the handles get hot. We use it mainly to heat water for our french press and it yields enough for ~4 cups of coffee.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Design
Cons: Weight, Size

European made, yeah!
I'm so excited to find this kettle after searching far and wide. I refuse to purchase any food preparation items from China. I'm equally excited to see someone has bought this item and is thrilled with it's performance. BUYING it now!
