Shun Ken Onion 7" Cleaver
Chopping meat and bone is a heavy-duty job that calls for the weighty might of a cleaver. Handcrafted in Japan, ours is designed for perfect balance and a satisfying heft by master knife maker Ken Onion. VG-10 "super steel" blade is clad on each side with 16 microthin layers of high-carbon steel, creating a variegated look reminiscent of a Damascus-style blade. Specially shaped handle increases control while decreasing fatigue. Handle is made from resin-infused PakkaWood for lasting moisture resistance. Handcrafted by Kershaw, premier cutlery makers for more than 90 years.

Shun does it again

This is my 5th Shun knife and it does not disappoint. Outstanding knife. Cuts through the thickest poultry bones like butter. Can't wait to try it on red meat. The heavy weight really helps glide through the toughest task. The handle is not as comfortable to me as the classic Shun, but that is personal preference. Also, you can never beat Shun's free sharpening service. Truly the best knives in the market (for those of us who can't afford Kramer)

the description says it's made of vg-10. terms of use actually don't allow me to complete my review honestly. buy it in person.
Pros: Easy to Use, Balance, Easy to Clean, Versatile, Shape
Cons: Quality, High-Maintenance, Fragile

I own most of the Shun Series and find them to be worth every penny. the Shun Ken Onion Cleaver is a not only a fantastic piece of art with its beautiful shape, perfict weight and incredible sharpness. it has become one of my favorite pieces in the kitchen. highly recomend it.

First to hold this wonderful piece is like holding a woman in your arms and seeing your face in her eyes. I found it wonderful addition to my collection and would love to work for this company with all its benefits!
