Beautiful but not practical

This bamboo block is without question one of the most elegant I have encountered. It is well constructed and has a great color variation. It is heavy and really has a presence in our kitchen. Because most of the slots are the same size, it allows the user to place any assortment of knives into them. There is not the appearance that knives are missing from the unfull block. With that said, all but two of the slots are made for very broad knives. As a result, most knives do not sit in the block very well. This makes the block impractical. It almost looks better without knives in it.
