Shun Edo 6-Piece Block Set

Shun Edo's reputation for superior power and control is reflected in the extraordinary appearance of their cutlery. The VG-10 "super steel" blade's eye-catching hammered pattern reduces drag and helps food release easily, and the handle's tear-drop shape and broad bolster facilitate a variety of cutting techniques. Wide bolsters and ergonomic grips reduce tension and fatigue while providing added leverage. Incredibly dense VG-10 "Super Steel" blade is tempered for exceptional hardness and edge retention. The hammered pattern ("tsuchime" in Japanese) helps the blade pass easily through food without sticking. Handle is made from resin-infused PakkaWood for lasting moisture resistance. Shun's knife-making technique draws upon the traditions of Japanese sword-making while employing state-of-the-art technology. This NSF-certified knife meets the high-level hygiene standards of commercial kitchens. Bamboo storage block has slots for 11 pieces. Handcrafted in Japan. Set includes: 3 1/2" paring. 5 1/2" utility. 8 1/4" dual density utility. 8 1/2" chef's knife. Honing steel. 11 slot storage block.

Worth Every Penny
August 15, 2012
My husband and i decided to invest in this set after careful research and consideration. I love to cook and can honestly say that i use these knives every single day so good quality was our top priority. My favorite feature on the Edo's is obviously how incredibly sharp they are even compared to some other high quality brands. If you have not owned a Shun in the past you really have to be careful when you first get them because even the most difficult items are sliced like butter and it’s easy to cut yourself if not careful. The uneven surface at the top is very helpful when chopping lots of veggies, it helps them not stick and it’s also a very neat aesthetic feature. You really can not go wrong with this set!
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Versatile, Sharpness, Weight

The best knives I've ever owned
December 25, 2010
These knives are amazing. The only complaint I have is the knives fit loosely in the block and the block has more slots then there are Edo knives available.

Best Shun Knives yet
August 30, 2010
I've had this set for three weeks and there is nothing about them I do not love. They have all held their edges extremely well (despite a lot of use) I have other Shun knives which are quite good but these are marked improvement over them and all four knives in this set are useful.

Knives as Art!
August 22, 2010
These beautifully crafted knives are a pleasure to use and look at, and, of course, being Shun they are so super sharp they cut like butter.
