Excellent value
September 23, 2014
I own four different coffee grinders: two with flat burrs and two with conical burrs.
The Saeco uses flat burrs, and for more than a year has proven to be an excellent product for drip grind level of fineness/coarseness. (I own only a drip coffee maker, so cannot comment about its applicability for espresso.)
It produces a pretty consistent grind with minimal dust (although not quite up to the level of the conical grinders), and is the easiest of the bunch to clean.
For a flat burr grinder it is relatively quiet. (I do not know the speed/RPM of the motor, but it sounds like it is running at a slower speed than the other flat burr grinder, hence, if so, then it produces less heat.)
I use dark roasted beans exclusively in the Saeco and have never had a problem with clogging.
There is a minor issue with static electricity, but no more than what I experience with the conical burr grinders, including the one with a glass grounds container.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Power, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Speed, Quiet, Design

Messy, Mediocre grind
January 8, 2014
I thought from looking at the picture that the grinds fall from the top into the grind container. They do not. They are pushed from an opening in the back wall of the container, into the container. After daily use, simply removing the grind container spills grinds. Opening the container (to pour grinds into your ready french press or filter or espresso machine) is also messy.
And unfortunately the "coarse" setting (used for a french press) is not coarse enough.
I expected a better design from a grinder at this price. After several months of disappointment, I finally returned this product.
Pros: Size
Cons: Difficult to Clean
