Great iron, had the Focus iron, until my son broke it. This one seems just as good.

Possibly defective

I bought this iron as a gift for my daughter a couple of years ago. She adores it, and I have used it at her house and it was wonderful. Finally decided to buy myself one and this is a different piece of equipment. First, it hisses constantly, no matter the water level or heat setting. Second, the position of the heat control, right under the handle, makes it virtually impossible not to accidentally hit it while ironing, thus changing the heat setting. Huge design flaw in my opinion, combined with the "hissing" defect in the particular iron I got. This iron would have been a bargain if it functioned well, but was worthless as received. Returned after the first batch of ironing attempted with it.

Best Rowenta Yet - A Winner

I have had a Rowenta iron for years whose heavier weight and shot of steam gave me the best results I ever had with an iron. But the just "so-so" regular steam feature and short cord were drawbacks. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the improvements Rowenta has made in this new model. With a 7 foot cord, improved steam emittance, and the narrowed precision tip that makes ironing button placket areas and pressing narrow 1/4" quilt seams on corners and round seams a piece of cake, this Rowenta Iron is a dream! Although Rowenta is a little pricey, the time it saves me and the professional end result that it provides makes the extra $$$$ worth spending. You can't go wrong with this iron!
Pros: Quality, Easy to Clean, Design, Weight, great for quilting, great steam features

Rowenta is overpriced and poorly made

I would not ever again buy another Rowenta product. I have had 3 of their irons and spent up to $170 on them. None of them last and all of them fail much sooner than they should at that cost. I have switched to a product made in America called "Reliable." I just got my new iron from them and it is remarkable. They are priced about the same as Rowenta. I'll never go back to this inferior brand. One star is too many for them.

Rowenta irons are awesome

I've owned probably 5 Rowenta irons in the last 20 years and it is the only iron that I would purchase. They are a little more expensive than most, but they are solid and have exceptional steam. I like that they are heavier than most, get really hot and again love the steam. I can iron the front side of my husband's golf shirt and the back looks like it has been ironed -- saves time!

Crisp, and Clean from sheets to shirts, the Rowenta Promaster Iron keeps things fresh. Never a burn, rust stain, or friction glide, its stainless steel plate is easy to wipe. The wide face smooths wrinkles, and presses pleats F-A-S-T, while the precision tip glides around buttons. Auto-off feature, and a thick cord that never tangles. Good job made great.

Catches on buttons!!

This is my second Rowenta iron. My first one was a dream but just played out after many years. The BIG issue I have with this iron is serious enough for me to warn others to understand exactly what they are getting. The space between the bottom plate & the iron catches on EVERY button you pass by while ironing. It is so very irritating that the rest of what this iron DOES DO goes out the window. Since I use my iron constantly, this is a very big issue for me. Had I known about this earlier, I would have made a different choice.
Pros: Easy to Clean
Cons: Difficult to Use, catches on buttons of the garment.

Great Iron

I just received this iron and used it for the first time. The numerous small holes in the soleplate give excellent steam. It is a pleasure to have a product made in Germany, not in Asia!!
My only complaint is that it is very heavy, which makes ironing a little tiring.

Like Driving a Rolls Royce - love, love, love

I recently purchased this iron and when I first used it, it was like driving a luxury vehicle!! I had had a Rowenta previously(not this model) and I thought that it was the best. Once you have owned a Rowenta, nothing else will compare!! - you can't go back. I would highly recommend it for anybody who irons. Always be sure to purchase a Rowenta made in Germany and do not fuss about the cost. Love, love, love it. You will not regret this purchase!
