Riedel Sommeliers Champagne Flute
Riedel's premier collection, the Sommeliers line, includes an impressive assortment of lead-crystal glasses, each developed by experts to flatter a specific type of fine wine or liquor. This glass is designed to showcase fine Champagne, including Cuvee Prestige, Vintage Champagne, Vintage Sparkling Wine and Rose Champagne. The large fluted bowl provides ample breathing space, which concentrates the yeasty bouquet and brings out the full range of aromas. The narrow mouth directs the flow of liquid to areas of the palate that recognize the creamy texture. To preserve the Champagne's effervescence, each flute has a tiny dot etched into the base of its bowl; this slightly abraded spot generates a continuous stream of bubbles. Artisans at the company's family-owned factory in Austria craft this exquisite piece individually, performing every step of the glassmaking process by hand. Excellent Quality But Very Fragile

This is a wonderful champagne flute, very high quality and enjoyable to use. That being said, it is not a flute that you would routinely use as it is extremely fragile. We used the flute at the holidays, and in the process of carefully hand washing it after use, it shattered while being dried. The glass is such high quality and so thin that it really can only be used on very special occasions with extreme care. But if you want the ultimate flute, this is it!
