Riedel Sommeliers Bordeaux Glass

Riedel's premier collection, the Sommeliers line, includes an impressive assortment of lead-crystal glasses, each developed by expert tasters to flatter a specific type of fine wine or liquor. This glass was designed for the great red wines of Bordeaux, including those made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes. The generous bowl provides breathing space and allows the aromas to unfold. The rim is precisely shaped to deliver the wine toward the front of the palette, which allows you to experience the well-balanced blend of acidity and supple tannins. The glass' shape also enhances your appreciation of the wine's silky texture and prolonged finish. Artisans at the company's family-owned factory in Austria craft this exquisite piece individually, performing every step of the glassmaking process by hand. We recommend washing by hand. 30.4-oz. cap., 10 3/4" high.

A beautiful glass but entirely too fragile
September 14, 2014
I read reviews of this glass before purchasing it and knew that it would be fragile. However it truly is TOO fragile. I used it once, and hand washed it, and in attempting to dry it gently with a dish towel, it shattered. If a glass is too fragile to be able to wash it carefully by hand, something is not right. If it wasn't too fragile, I would give it 5 stars as it was really a beautifully thin glass.
Cons: Fragile

This glass is both beautiful and very light. It greatly adds to the appreciation of the wine.
Must be careful in handling as the glass is delicate.
Pros: Quality, Appearance, Weight
