Riedel Duck Decanter

This sculptural decanter draws its design inspiration from nature's own artistry, providing elegant presentation for fine wines. The elongated shape creates a generous interior surface area, exposing wine to just the right amount of oxygen. Aeration has an effect similar to swirling wine in a glass, encouraging both young and old vintages to develop their full flavors and bouquet. The decanter's wide mouth simplifies filling, while the curved handle makes the well-balanced vessel very comfortable to hold and pour. A superb example of the glassblower's art, this sparkling lead-crystal decanter is crafted entirely by hand at Riedel's family-owned glassworks in Austria. Hand-washing is recommended. 31.7-oz. cap. (holds the contents of a standard 750-ml. bottle); 5" high.

Great-looking and classy style
August 14, 2011
This decanter was purchased by me as a gift for my husband a few Christmases ago. We don't use it often, maybe three times a year, but when we do, we get rave reviews from our dinner guests. It's a very pretty decanter, and unexpected due to its shape and style. The only negative is cleaning it. However, you can get those Riedel metal cleaning beads/balls that you swirl around with water to clean the decanter. Those work pretty well too. I would have given 5 stars if it was easier to clean!
Pros: Quality, Good for Entertaining, Appearance, classy look
Cons: Difficult to Clean

Cleaning Decanters
All you need to do to clean is put a few tbs of salt in it and a few cups of crushed ice. swirl it around and then rinse. Don't use hot water to rinse!
