Difficult Design to Extricate from Cutter
January 3, 2014
I have to agree with the previous reviewer that parts of this design are simply too difficult to extricate from the cutter once cut. The hooves and part of the horns are simply too narrow to easily extricate from the cutter. I used everything - toothpicks, the soft brush someone else suggested - I ended up scrapping every reindeer that I cut.
I will say that likely by using a firmer dough that is rolled thick - like a third inch or more tough sugar cookie dough - one might have better success in cutting out the reindeer. But I was using a tender dough that was soft and rolled to 1/4 inch - didn't work. Pretty cutter though...
Pros: Size, beautiful
Cons: nearly impossible to effectively use

Impossible to Use
December 5, 2013
It was IMPOSSIBLE to get the cookie dough out of the smaller parts of the cutter (antlers, tail, tips of feet). I'm an advanced baker and I tried every trick in the book. I was never able get the dough out of the small spaces undamaged. Pieces either stuck completely, broke off or were so damaged after trying to get it out and the cookie had to be scrapped. I was very excited to buy this super cute cookie cutter and I'm extremely disappointed it didn't work. I would like to return this item for a refund.
Cons: Difficult to Clean, impossible to get dough out of small parts.

dough too soft?
Just a thought; perhaps the recipe you were using was too soft/delicate. I have several sugar/gingerbread recipes that I use and they have all different textures. I have just ordered this so after I have tried it I will leave a review.

Try using a small soft paintbrush (used just for baking/cookie decorating) to nudge the dough out of the tight spots. I can usually do this without marking the dough.
