Delicious Spicy Cake

Made this for a family potluck, lots of other desserts but this one got cleaned up fast. It is a thick moist delicious spicy cake that's hard to stop eating. The only changes I made were I tripled the sherry in the frosting because the single teaspoon didn't really affect the flavor, and when the whole thing was done I minced crystalized ginger and sprinkled it over the top. Visually appealing and really yummy.
