Slow-Cooked Chicken with Herbed Biscuits

Chock-full of chicken, chanterelle mushrooms and other vegetables, this savory stew is braised in a slow cooker, then topped with herb-flecked biscuits and baked in the oven until golden brown.

Gluten free option--terrific
February 10, 2015
I made this using Bob's Redmill Gluten free biscuit flour, and even my husband loved it (he has been ever so patient with the gluten free recipes!) It was a delicious recipe.

Slow-cooked Chicken and Herbed Biscuits
January 19, 2015
Everyone loved it, presentation is terrific. Changes: threw in one small leek, thinly sliced, while sautéing the mushrooms (couldn't find chanterelles; used large white mushrooms halved). Did the slow-cooked chicken the day before, reheated, and then into the over with the biscuits. Made extra biscuits and pan baked them. Fun, delicious, with great leftovers.
Pros: Yield, Kid-Friendly, Appearance, Impressive, Will Make Again

I am all about good food! This is the most comfort-food dish one can make! I didn't find it to be extra labor-intensive because most of my cooking requires the work. Love the Chanterells!!!! My 15 year old daughter was in heaven!! Single ladies...if you want to hook a worthy man, make this for him!!!
