Real Butterscotch Pudding

Spoon for spoon, is there any dessert more comforting than pudding? Of the trio of vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch flavors, the last one arguably has the most dedicated fans. But many people have tasted only the boxed kind. Here is the real deal, infused with caramel and the rich flavor of butter.

Terrible didn't come out
March 6, 2011
After cooking the sugar & water mixture down and it looked dark brown carmel color, added the milk mixture to it and it had little lumps of carmel all through it which never went away. I think I cooked it too long as it said to stir constantly until carmel was completely dissolved. Well, it never dissolved and when I added it to the egg mixture and poured it back it thickened up so much and it would not go through the sieve. I don't know which part caused the problem but I think I'll stick to cook and serve jello pudding.
