If you prefer, substitute 1 cup chopped cooked pancetta or thick-cut bacon for the ham. Both will add a pleasant, smoky note to the creamy sauce.

A go to staple dish

My wife and I love this. Extremely easy to make and warm up at work for lunch. 20 minutes tops to make. I use bowtie pasta every time. Great with Chardonnay and crusty bread.

Double the sauce

As the prior reviewer mentioned, it would be best to double the sauce. I also added some sherry after I cooked the ham and before I added 2 cups of cream. Remember to save the boiled water from the pasta to add to the sauce. It is a quick and easy recipe, although it needed a little more pizzazz. I might try adding some rosemary the next time I make this recipe.

Just made this meal for dinner and the three girls loved it! So very simple. but I think it could have used more sauce. I would double the sauce portion and absolutely make this again!
