Browning the chicken pieces before simmering them with the vegetables produces a rich, flavorful soup broth.

Be prepared to make another pot
January 8, 2011
Made this soup about six years ago since I wanted to enjoy a less salty version of this standard. Also, other recipes on the Williams-Sonoma site were fairly easy to follow yet yielded great results. If you make this and share it with anyone else, you'll be asked for it again. Just make it easier on yourself and have copies of the recipe on hand if you ever share this with friends or family!

Just like Mama's

I have been looking for a soup that was like what my mom made when I was little and this is identical in every way (mama used egg noodles instead of fettucine). I loved it and so did my family! Perfect for that cold night after a day full of activities.
