My family loves this- even my picky toddler!

My family loves this recipe! I usually add black beans to the mix and sub in whole grain brown rice, add and more lime juice than called for and more chillies. Top with avacado, cotija cheese and crumbled tortilla chips and you've got a crowd pleaser! Even my two-year-old gobbles it up since all of the ingredients fit on her spoon easily (unlike noodle soups). We usually make enough to freeze two additional portions.

I love this recipe - it's quick, easy and so delicious. It's a great base recipe that you can tweak to make your own- I often add more serranos to give it a kick and also love adding hominy to make it even heartier. I'm thinking about substituting the pork for chicken in this recipe as well. Another winner from Williams-Sonoma!
