Reminds Me of Grandma

I tried this recipe prior to cooking them for Thanksgiving. I wanted to see what others thought.
Usually I throw strips of bacon in my canned green beans - cook them down and the results are sometimes mushy.
This recipe yielded very favorful green beans that were indeed sweet/sour with bacon goodness. They were also NOT mushy.
By the way - the guests, who had my previous green beans, really liked these.
