Baked in the shape of a heart, this rich chocolate cake is just the thing for a Valentine's Day celebration. Be sure to let the water-cocoa powder mixture cool to lukewarm before adding it to the butter mixture; otherwise, the butter will melt.

I am a chocolate lover, but had never made Devil's food cake before. I tried this recipe as cupcakes and they turned out delicious. I used Hershey's cocoa powder instead of the Dutch, but otherwise followed the recipe directly. I baked the cupcakes for 20 minuets and served with bluebell ice cream and my grandma's chocolate fudge sauce recipe. It was delightful! I would highly recommend. :]

Easy Special Occasion Cake

I made this recipe before when my sister gave me the pan. It's a great way to serve an elegant dessert with a small amount of fuss. Cake itself has great chocolate flavor.
