Day-After-Thanksgiving Bean Soup

The secret ingredients for this post-Thanksgiving soup are turkey gravy and turkey fat, if you have some. To make the soup even heartier, stir in diced cooked turkey just before serving.

Excellent and nutritious

I think the wild rice and the small amount of tomato paste are the secret ingredients that make this come together! Don't substitute. I've made lots of soups with my turkey leftovers but this is so good that it will be my tradition from now on!!!

Best soup ever-ever-ever!
November 28, 2012
This soup is amazing! It made the house smell like there was a turkey in the oven. And the flavor!! It's something very special, and it seems especially healthy with the beans and wild rice. I've shared it with several neighbors and they've all called just to rave about it. It's going into my Favorites box. I did mine with the port wine, I used little red beans, canned gravy, and for the turkey fat, I used the skim off the top of fresh home-made turkey stock.. There was more broth than pictured, but the broth was the best part. Don't hesitate.
Pros: Yield, Good Value, Easy, Healthy, Impressive, Will Make Again, new and different
