For a thousand years, tiny, lens-shaped lentils have been popular in many European countries and a staple throughout the Middle East and India. They are a natural partner to fresh salmon. Small lentils from Le Puy, France, are particularly prized, although ordinary brown lentils also work well here.

Would definitely serve that recipe to guests. Prepared the salmon on the BBQ. The lentils are what makes this recipe great. Spicy and tasty.

Did not modify the recipe one bit. Perfect for a weeknight meal -- fancy enough to serve guests.

Nice fall dish

I have actually made this exact recipe over the last five years. The lentels make it filling. It is a nice twist on our all old favorite of salmon. It is spicy, so go forward with that in mind. I highly recommend it. BUT- dont rush the simmering of the spice and lentels, that is a key part, a little patience. But well worth the short wait.
