Caramel-Apple Lattice Pie

When making caramel sauce, keep these tips in mind: Use a clean brush dampened with water to brush any sugar crystals down the sides of the pan. Watch carefully as the syrup cooks and remove it immediately from the heat when it reaches a medium amber color. Do not let the syrup turn dark brown or it will taste burned.

This is our traditional apple pie for Thanksgiving Day. We've made it for years. It is somewhat time consuming to make but well worth the trouble. Our whole family loves it.

Great pie and the caramel is fun

I really enjoyed making this pie. we were having a fund raiser at our church and this pie went so fast that they were "praying" for more.
Well worth it and making the caramel was fun.
