I've used this recipe for many occasions from the holidays to just a nice comfort meal at home - it is always a crowd pleaser. Really easy (I used it the first time I tried to braise anything) and very tasty. I used the same amount for 4 lamb shanks in a small (5.5 qt) dutch oven. Excellent!
