Flavorful brisket is an ideal candidate for oven braising. Serve it with its sauce the first night and then use the rest of it for making sandwiches, pasta or a savory shepherd's pie (see related recipes at left).

Best Braised Brisket Ever!
April 30, 2013
Made this last night for dinner. The only change I made was to add a little cornstarch to the sauce (which may or may not have been necessary, I like my sauces on the thick side). It was absolutely delicious! The first words I heard out of my husband's mouth the next morning, was "that is the best braised brisket I've ever eaten."
Pros: Easy, Will Make Again

So tasty - worth the long cooking time
September 28, 2010
I made this for some good friends who were visiting. It is one of the most tasty dishes I have ever prepared, and they loved it.
One small detail that I would change - I didn't like the taste of the marjoram added at the end, and it is quite overpowering. I would leave this out next time. But the next day, the marjoram taste was not so pungent in the leftovers.
