Beer-Battered Onion Rings

You can serve these classic onion rings in their time-honored role: alongside a juicy cheeseburger or riding atop a grilled steak. But they are also a winning appetizer, especially when accompanied with a pint of cold, frothy beer. Sweet Vidalia onions, which are mellower than yellow onions, are a particularly tasty choice.

So good that they disappeared as I made them
November 6, 2011
Keep the onion rings in the oven so people won't eat them (including the chef)! I kept making batch after batch and they would disappear. My family loved them! I would make this again. Be aware that this is a one person job. One person needs to constantly watch the deep frying while another person prepares the other parts of the meal. I used an Asian stir fry (thin) pan. I set my Viking range at medium to reach 350 Fahrenheit degrees. Keeping a constant temperature was the most difficult part.
Pros: Good Value, Will Make Again
