Beer-Battered Onion Rings

You can serve these classic onion rings in their time-honored role: alongside a juicy cheeseburger or riding atop a grilled steak. But they are also a winning appetizer, especially when accompanied with a pint of cold, frothy beer. Sweet Vidalia onions, which are mellower than yellow onions, are a particularly tasty choice.

Easy and Fun

This was a very nice, light batter for the onion rings. It would be fun to use on other veggies too and someone suggested cheese curds...yum! I made it using PBR, but would like to try a Belgian Blonde like Leffe next. Letting them drain on the cooling rack inside a half sheet pan was plates of paper towels needed! The Spider was great for scooping them out of the oil with no mess.
Pros: Easy, Impressive, Kid-Friendly, Yield, Adaptable, Appearance
Cons: Unhealthy
