Apple Pie

There is nothing more homey, autumnal and American than a warm apple pie cooling on the kitchen counter. For making this traditional dessert, look for good baking apples, such as Mutsu, Pink Lady or Empire, then top each slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or slices of sharp Cheddar cheese.

Simple and Perfect
November 4, 2014
Was so easy to make and I was surprised on how delicious and unique the flavor that came out of this pie especially with such few ingredients. I used Granny Smith Apples and the pie filled my house with a strong wonderful smell of the holidays while baking, even long after I had pulled it out of the oven to cool. Everyone asked for seconds and the recipe. Pairs very well with vanilla bean ice cream, vanilla flavored whipped cream or with some white cheddar.
Pros: Yield, Quick, Good Value, Easy, Kid-Friendly, Appearance, Adaptable, Impressive, Will Make Again, can use granny smith apples too, uses common household ingredients
